For Authors and Other Experts Who Want to Build a Global Audience around Your Message ...

Discover the "Secret Sauce" of Successful Authors and Experts that Will Allow You to Develop a Global Audience of Eager Followers in 90 Days

What would it mean to you if, over the next 90 days, you could attract an audience of thousands of people who eagerly read, watch, or listen to everything you say? (Check all that apply.)

I could finally attract an agent and/or publisher.

I could become a bestselling author.

I could attract more clients or customers.

I could work less and make more money, so I can enjoy more leisure and time with my family.

Or ... (fill in with your own desires):

Please read everything below, because you will learn what is the "secret sauce" that sets apart successful authors and business people. Just as a restaurant can become successful for serving, say, a salad with a special "house dressing" that makes them special and unique and worth talking about, so you too can develop your own "secret sauce" that will set you apart.

With your "secret sauce" in place, you can at least double, if not triple or more, the number of people who will find your message interesting, to the point where you can begin to see those dreams you mentioned above come true.

It's All about the P Word

In the publishing industry, there's a word that causes every author to groan.

"Platform."

To get published by a traditional publisher, you need to have a strong "author platform."

That's the only thing they really look for: "How big is the author's platform?"

What does this mean?

It means, how many people do you reach over what period of time?

If you have a daily radio show that reaches 200,000 people, that's a strong platform.

If you can prove that your blog gets 5000 unique visitors per month, that's a pretty good platform.

If you can prove that 500 people bought your latest teleseminar course, that's also a platform.

If 5 partners with lists of 20-50,,000 people emailed their readers about your eBook, that too figures in.

These are the kind of figures publishers look for.

The problem is, we all have to start somewhere, and most authors and experts who want to be authors have nowhere near those kinds of numbers.

What to do? Where to start? How to break through the Catch-22 of not being heard because you can't get published, and not being published because you don't have a platform?

Enter Web 2.0

Michael Cader is the editor of Publisher's Marketplace and Publisher's Lunch who caught the vision of what the Internet could do for an author. Here's what he said two years ago:

"If publishers had sat down 10 years ago and tried to figure out something that could connect them to their customers, share their information, allow them to develop deep, targeted, meaningful, individual relationships, and sell product with less friction all at the same time, they couldn't have invented anything better than the Internet, which as a reading medium has given rise to an epistolary culture that we never could have imagined. …
"The Internet was designed for us [publishers and authors]. We couldn't have made something any better, and I think precious few publishers have taken aggressive advantage of all the ways in which a good Internet strategy can spread the word about their products, bring them closer to their customers, and help them drive sales. Retailers tell us all the time, people find out what they want to read online. Every publisher [I would add, author] should be thinking of their digital strategy as really beginning with the Internet, and branching out from there."

Michael Cader spoke these words just before what we call Web 2.0 hit. If anything, his words are truer today than they were two years ago.

Now we have any number of ways to deliver our message:

  • blog
  • articles (online, off line)
  • audio podcasts
  • video (podcasts, YouTube)
  • email
  • newsletters
  • teleseminars
  • podcasts
  • public speaking
  • social networks (Facebook, MySpace)
  • Twitter
  • online forums

There are more venues than ever for our message.

With the advent of print-on-demand technology and other forms of more affordable publishing, anyone can get published.

Even the word "published" means something new. It can mean anything from "a traditional publisher is printing and distributing my book" to "I produce my own newsletter."

All these wonderful opportunities present a problem, however....

Many Venues, More Exposure, But ...

With more media than ever vying for everyone's time and attention (which are limited commodities), it's not so much a matter of "getting the word out" as "being well heard."

That's the rub.

There's so much NOISE out there--everyone chattering in all these venues--that the big issue becomes simply: BEING HEARD.

So let me redefine "platform": It's not so much how many people you might reach, but how many people actually HEAR you.

THAT'S what you really want: to be well heard.

The only way to be well-heard these days is to become so laser-focused with your message that, no matter which venue you use, your clear message will rise above the din of everyone else.

That's what attracts people to you.

That's the "secret sauce" that will allow you to build an audience quickly.

And that's what most authors find it very difficult to do.

But there's another ingredient to the "secret sauce" of an effective platform.

It's called leverage.

It means that you connect your message with a message that is being talked about on a much larger scale.

Enter the media.

Harness the Reach of the Media

If you can connect your message to a message the larger culture is already talking about, your message will be heard.

More importantly if you're an author, the media can give you the added credibility that spells "strong platform."

It can also amplify your message and at least double your audience.

In 90 days or so, the media will begin talking about FREEDOM.

They will be looking for stories that cover freedom in a number of different ways.

What if one of those ways was a message that leads them to your website, book, special training?

Well, that can happen.

IF you have the "secret sauce."

The "Secret Sauce": Develop Your Internet Brand

The "secret sauce" is developing such a laser-focused, honed core message, and to be so clear about exactly whom your message is intended to reach, that no matter what venue you choose (podcast, blog, article, Twitter), you will be telling some key facet of your story in a way that will enable you to be well heard and yes, even well paid.

It's about creating an "Internet brand" that makes sense to both humans who are searching for your message, and to Google so that you come up high in the search engines.

There's a strategy for doing this.

You can learn it in the next 90 days.

Here's how.

Double Your Audience and "Let Freedom Ring!"

Starting on April 28, I will be co-teaching a course with my own business coach, Russell Cox, on how to develop your audience and Internet brand. It will be a hands-on, workshop type class in which the instructors (Russell, business coach Bonnie Dubrow, and I) will help you to come up with your Internet brand, the "themes" or stories you will tell in slightly different ways as you build your platform, and more.

The really exciting thing, though, is how we're going to tie  your message in with a topic that will be sure to be in the media A LOT this summer: freedom.

Especially with the first African-American president now in office, you can be sure that when America celebrates freedom on its birthday, the media will be a-buzzing with this freedom angle all over.

Why not have your message tie into it?

Here's how I will be doing this as a publishing coach.

I am going to be writing articles, blog posts, press releases and Tweets, and doing teleseminars and podcasts on the how technology and cultural factors are allowing people unprecedented freedom to get their message out. More people have more freedom to become authors than ever before.

I will be "branding" the terms "publishing coach" and "New Era Publishing"

I will proclaim my theme of "being well heard and well paid" and tie it in to what the media will be talking about.

Taking the class will allow you to learn my strategy and build one of your own, with coaching from your three instructors.

You will also get the benefit of listening to how the other students are formulating their strategies and building their platforms, which will give you further ideas and actionable steps.

By the end of the 5-week class, you will have your message honed to a one-page document that will become the blueprint for an author platform you will then be able to build much faster and easier than you would have dreamed possible.

Then, there will be two post classes in which we'll hone your strategy to present to the media. In this way, you will get exposure you'd never get otherwise.

You'll even get my coaching on how to contact the media and write press releases that will want them to contact you and give you exposure.

This summer, "let freedom ring!"--your own freedom to finally get your message out, and the freedom your message will bring to others.

Special Teleseminar Discount Extended to Diane's Subscribers

The cost of this 5-week course (plus pre-class, post-class, and extra bonus calls) is $495.

And it's an investment in yourself and your message that will be returned to you, I assure you. (Assuming you do the work, of course. Nothing happens until you take action.)

You won't have to pay the full price, however.

On April 16, I did a teleseminar with Russell Cox. (You can listen to it here if you have not yet done so.) We offered a special discount to listeners, and I've arranged for you to get that teleseminar special price that, I assure you, will never be repeated.

If you sign up by 10 pm Central on Friday, May 1, you can get the entire course, with access to the trainers for your questions, for only $297.

Like I said, this price will never be repeated. UPDATE: As promised, the discounted price has expired. You may still enroll, however. It's well worth it.

Nor will you have live access to the trainers in the future.

And this tie-in with the media will not be repeated, because obviously it's a time-sensitive theme.

So if you want to establish your Internet brand and lay the foundation for a rock-solid author platform now  , so that you can be well heard and well paid and double your audience in the next 90 days, sign up now.

Yes, Diane, I want to take the 5-week course to develop my audience and build my platform!
